Year 4 – English
Year 4 is a year of consolidation and lift. Students strengthen the building blocks of language while learning to explain how meaning is created in both written and visual texts. At NexGen Tutoring, our Year 4 English program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and focuses on the three key strands of Language, Literature and Literacy.
Across the year, students engage with richer fiction and non-fiction texts, including narratives, poetry and information reports. They develop stronger reading fluency, expand vocabulary, and learn to write with clearer structure and greater control. Lessons combine explicit teaching, guided practice and independent work, supported by structured worksheets and regular feedback so students can improve steadily.
