Year 12 – English
Year 12 English is the final stretch, where students need more than knowledge of texts. They need exam-ready skills: precise analysis, strong argument, controlled writing under time pressure, and the confidence to respond to unfamiliar questions. At NexGen Tutoring, our Year 12 English program is designed to support senior secondary success by strengthening the core skills that apply across school pathways, including ATAR-style English and Literature.
Across the year, students study sophisticated texts (poetry, drama, fiction, nonfiction, film and media) and learn how to interpret them in depth. They practise writing in multiple forms, refine expression and structure, and build reliable strategies for timed responses. Lessons combine explicit teaching, modelling, and consistent practice, supported by structured worksheets, feedback, and improvement plans.
