Year 11 – English
Year 11 English is where students step into senior-level reading and writing. The focus shifts to building sustained interpretations, crafting thesis-driven arguments, and communicating ideas with control and confidence. At NexGen Tutoring, our Year 11 English program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and supports students to succeed with the texts, concepts and assessment skills that matter most in senior school.
Across the year, students study a range of challenging texts such as novels, drama, poetry, nonfiction, speeches, media and film. They learn to analyse how texts represent the world, compare perspectives, and shape their own voice in imaginative, reflective and analytical writing. Lessons include explicit teaching, modelling, and regular assessment-style practice, supported by structured worksheets and targeted feedback.
