Year 10 – Maths (Standard)
Year 10 is the ultimate foundation for senior success. At NexGen Tutoring, our Year 10 program focuses on consolidating the complex methods and abstract ideas required for the final years of high school. - Advanced Algebra & Equations: Students master algebraic fractions and the substitution of values into complex formulas. We dive deep into Quadratic Equations, teaching students how to expand, factorize, and solve them with confidence.
- Linear & Non-Linear Relationships: We introduce Simultaneous Equations and the properties of Parallel and Perpendicular lines. Students also learn to solve linear inequalities, a key skill for senior mathematics.
- Real-World Financial Math: Students move beyond simple interest to master Compound Interest, learning how money grows in the real world—an essential life skill and a staple of senior exams.
- Trigonometry & Practical Geometry: We expand on right-angled triangles to include Angles of Elevation and Depression and Bearings. Students also learn to prove congruence and similarity with formal geometric reasoning.
- Data Science & Bivariate Analysis: Students learn to analyze the relationship between two variables using Scatter Plots. We also introduce the Five-Number Summary and Box Plots, teaching students how to evaluate and critique statistical reports.
