Year 7 – English
Year 7 is the point where English becomes less about “getting it right” and more about thinking clearly and expressing ideas well. At NexGen Tutoring, our Year 7 English program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and helps students transition into secondary English by building strong habits in reading, writing and discussion.
Across the year, students work with a broad mix of texts such as novels, short stories, poetry, drama, articles, speeches and film/media. They learn how to explain what a text is saying, how it is constructed, and why it affects an audience. Lessons balance explicit teaching with regular practice tasks, supported by structured worksheets and clear feedback so students steadily improve.
